Two new HELM modules launched
2nd February 2016
HELM gives NHS trusts the platform to deliver and manage the UK core skills framework and leadership training.
The modules in HELM have been developed to be flexible and fit in with the way that every organisation works. Modules can be used as they are or users can add their branding and can also develop their own modules.
Two new modules have been developed to add to our portfolio. These are ‘Fire Safety’ and ‘Slips Trips and Falls’ training. The modules are designed for all staff across all level of seniority within NHS trusts and are designed to protect the liability of the organisation and also to reduce the accidents of staff in carrying out their day to day tasks.
Slips, trips and falls are the most common cause of workplace injuries. This module identifies the main causes of trip accidents; advises on how they can be prevented; and prescribes the necessary actions to be taken should an accident happen.
Fire Safety training details how to avoid and manage a fire outbreak. The module includes fire scenarios, how to raise the alarm, use a fire extinguisher and fire blanket.
Both new modules can work as stand-alone subjects or can be used alongside the existing range of training materials created in HELM.
